Tax Information For Students

Many students receive financial aid packages while attending undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools. These packages often consist of student jobs, loans, and financial aid, such as scholarships, fellowships, grants, and travel awards.

Unfortunately, tax reporting and withholding issues related to student financial aid are often complicated and confusing. This website contains general information intended to help students understand these issues.

Note: It is the responsibility of each individual taxpayer to comply with U.S. tax laws. Cornell's Tax Compliance Office can not provide advice to individual taxpayers.
